For more than a decade Aluma Systems provided TransAlta with a full range of industrial services, including access equipment, asbestos abatement and insulation, and labor management.
Since the beginning we delivered direct benefits to the company through a reduction in scaffolding costs due to better utilization of equipment, solid organization skills during plant shutdowns and a strong focus on continual improvement through ISO 9002 registration.
Our relationship with TransAlta began with supplying industrial scaffolding and labor services to one plant, a contract which expanded in 1999 to supply material and labor for the scaffolding, insulation, asbestos abatement and cladding at 17 plants.
In March 2000, Aluma Systems completed work on the Unit 3 Shutdown at TransAlta's Wabamun Generating Station, the largest industrial abatement project in the past five years in an operational plant in western Canada. In 2001 we supplied scaffolding and labor management during the capital upgrade of Sundance Generating Station's Unit 2.
Working on an incentive-based contract, Aluma Systems met TransAlta's stringent safety standards, scheduling needs and cost objectives.
